18 year old Shar has had a long career in racing and endurance since his first race in 2001.

He has had 14 starts for 9 wins ( including an historic dead heat with Shalite Shamilla ) and 5 second placings. When racing went into recess at various times over the years he competed in endurance, notching up over 3000 kilometres, including a Quilty, several State Championships ,two Shahzada 400 kms, 4 wins and many top ten placings.He is the only horse in Australia who has won over one mile and one hundred miles!



At present he shares his paddock with fellow race horse Ridgecrest Shy Guy (aka Dougie) who was leased to a Victorian trainer, and subsequently won the 2012 HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies IFAHR Cup at Moonee Valley ridden by Jadey Pietrawicsz of the Netherlands.



These two regularly race each other down the hill usually throwing in a few bucks for good measure.

Shar is a much loved member of the family and if he keeps looking as sprightly as he does, he will probably find himself at another endurance ride before the year is out!
